Sharing Stories. Building Connections.

QMF Mission

The Quincy Multicultural Festival exists to celebrate the many cultures and stories that make up our community, while creating meaningful opportunities for families and neighbors to connect. Our mission is to bring people together through music, dance, food, and storytelling, and to provide a space where children can learn, families can share, and everyone can feel a sense of belonging. By honoring and showcasing our cultural roots, we help build a stronger, more connected Quincy—one experience at a time.

QMF Vision

We envision a city where cultural pride and community spirit go hand in hand—where children grow up celebrating who they are and learning from one another, and where families of all backgrounds feel empowered to share their heritage.

The Quincy Multicultural Festival is more than an event; it’s a growing tradition that fosters understanding, connection, and joy, while building bridges across generations and neighborhoods.

Our Story:

The Quincy Multicultural Festival began with a simple but powerful idea: that bringing people together—face to face, culture by culture—could build something lasting.

In 2022, that idea became a reality, thanks to the shared vision of two community members, Mihaela Rusu and Shiv Singh. They dreamed of creating a space where everyone felt welcome, where families could gather, share their stories, and celebrate the richness of our city together.

From the beginning, this festival was never just about food, music, or performance—it was about community. It was about helping people see one another, connect across cultures, and create joyful spaces where children, parents, neighbors, and educators could learn, laugh, and grow side by side.

That first year, we partnered with Quincy Public Schools, a relationship that remains at the very heart of what we do. Their continued support has been key in ensuring students and educators play an active role in the festival—through performances and cultural tables. Together, we provide meaningful opportunities for everyone to explore new traditions, share their own heritage, and experience the beauty of our collective stories.

In 2023, the Quincy Multicultural Festival became an official nonprofit organization, allowing us to expand our impact and deepen our roots in the community. Since then, we’ve partnered with local schools, city departments, small businesses, cultural groups, and families to create a truly immersive and welcoming experience.

Each year, the festival grows—and with it, so does our vision. But our mission remains the same:

  • To celebrate, educate, unite, and build community.

  • To give children a chance to learn through curiosity and joy.

  • To give families the space to honor their heritage.

  • And to bring neighbors together in lasting, meaningful ways.

“For me, this festival is more than a community event—it’s one of the things I care most deeply about. It’s a reflection of my own journey to find connection and belonging, and it brings me joy to see families sharing their stories, children learning from one another, and strangers becoming neighbors.” — Mihaela Rusu, Founding President & Executive Director

We see the same beautiful moments each year: children proudly teaching others about their culture, parents making connections, and families dancing side by side. These moments remind us why this matters.

We hope you’ll be part of this growing tradition. Whether you join by hosting a cultural table, performing, volunteering, or simply showing up with an open heart—YOU belong here.
